Material & Finishes
Tekka approaches materials as part of an integrated system. Finishes across veneer and ultra-matte laminate are premium and intentionally selected for durability, consistency, and long-term use. Each material is paired with matching edgebanding and can be mixed and matched across fronts, backs, frames, edges, and recessed handles, allowing a cohesive yet flexible composition for any Tekka wall.

Real Wood Veneer
-
Optimized, state of the art techniques deliver a soft-touch, and deeper brushed wood experience. Our new, super matte finish amplifies the beauty and warmth of solid wood, while deep brushing enhances the authentic texture of each grain.
-
Our panels are as sturdy as they are stylish. Our best-in-class finish is the result of a six-layer varnishing process that provides our ultimate protection against micro scratches without compromising on touch, color and look.
-
Extensive research and development has led to enhanced protection against liquids, making our wood veneer a go-to option for horizontal use. Our advanced finishing technology penetrates the pores of every panel, ensuring protection against drips and spills.
Ultra-Matte Laminate
-
The surface is tuned to soften the trace of touch. Oils and marks are visually reduced, while a low-reflection finish diffuses light evenly, allowing the surface to read as calm and continuous rather than reactive, especially in areas of frequent contact, making it well-suited for horizontal applications.
-
The finish is stabilized against UV exposure, allowing color and sheen to remain consistent over time. Light interacts with the surface without degrading it, preserving tonal depth and material intent even in sun-filled interiors.
-
Edges are bonded using a zero-joint process, creating a continuous transition between surface and edge without visible glue lines. The result is a sealed, monolithic perimeter that enhances moisture resistance while maintaining a precise, uninterrupted material expression.
Designed for Continuity
Tekka units are designed to join seamlessly, sharing a continuous vertical frame that aligns structure and appearance across the entire system. This shared framework reduces redundancy while reinforcing visual rhythm and spatial clarity.
All components are joined using concealed, Swiss-made mechanical hardware, allowing the entire system to be assembled and disassembled with a single hex key. Each technical unit connects precisely to the next without adhesives or permanent fixing.
The result is a non-destructive assembly that supports reconfiguration and long-term ownership. A Tekka wall is not bound to a single space. It can move with you, adapting to what comes next.
Lighting
Lighting is designed as an integral part of the Tekka system, enhancing both function and atmosphere while preserving the clean architectural language of every composition. Integrated linear lighting, point lights,
and dedicated reading lights can be specified throughout the system to illuminate shelving, wardrobes, workspaces, display niches, and beds.
All fixtures are recessed within anodized aluminum housings, allowing the lighting to blend seamlessly into the system while maintaining a refined, durable finish. Every lighting option is coordinated during the design process, ensuring clean detailing and concealed wiring throughout.
Features:
- Integrated linear, point, and reading lights
- Anodized aluminum housing
- Dimmable
- Choice of colour temperature: 2700K–5000K *adjustable multi-white also available
- Various means of lighting control - in-profile and door sensors, touch dimmers, wall switches, or Bluetooth app-based switches available.
Care & Maintenance
A short guide to keeping your Tekka units beautiful, functional, and long-lasting - for the decades they’re built to live with you.

-
Real wood veneer is a natural material - beautiful, warm, and resilient when cared for properly.
Routine maintenance is minimal.
For everyday cleaning, simply remove dust with a soft, dry cloth. A slightly damp cloth can be used where needed - but avoid using too much water, and dry the surface immediately afterwards. If liquids are spilled, dry them as soon as possible to prevent staining or warping of the veneer.
For more stubborn marks, use water with a mild cleaning agent or detergent. Apply gently and dry the surface thoroughly afterwards.
-
The ultra-matte laminate surfaces used throughout the Tekka system are engineered for everyday use and remarkable longevity. Like real wood veneer, they require minimal care - with one important consideration: matte finishes are more sensitive to certain cleaning agents than glossy finishes.
For everyday cleaning, use a soft, lint-free cotton cloth. Damp is fine; soaking wet is not. For dust and light fingerprints, a dry microfiber cloth is ideal.
If a cleaning product is needed, choose an alcohol-free surface cleaner formulated for matte surfaces.
-
The hardware used throughout the Tekka system - concealed hinges, drawer slides, and the various closing mechanisms - is selected for quality and longevity. It is maintenance-free for the duration of your 10-year warranty.
You do not need to lubricate, tighten, or adjust any hardware yourself. If a door, drawer, or mechanism ever feels out of alignment, sticks, or stops operating smoothly, please contact us. Most adjustments are minor and quickly resolved.

If your Tekka installation includes an Eddy wall bed, a few notes will help ensure smooth long- term operation.
Bedding
Your bedding - sheets, duvet, blanket - can remain on the bed when it is in its upright position. The unit is designed to accommodate the added thickness. Pillows are an exception: they must be stored elsewhere unless your specific configuration includes dedicated pillow storage.
Storage Straps
Always use the provided storage straps when the bed is in its upright position. These secure the bedding and keep the mechanism operating cleanly. They are simple to use and an essential part of daily operation.
Hydraulic Struts & Mattress Weight
The hydraulic struts that support the bed have been precisely matched to your specified mattress weight. If you ever replace your mattress, contact us before doing so. A significant difference in weight may require the struts to be recalibrated or replaced to maintain safe, smooth operation.
-
If your installation includes integrated lighting, no specific maintenance is required. The LED components used throughout the system are rated for approximately 50,000 hours of use - typically 20 to 25 years of normal residential operation.
If a section of lighting ever fails or behaves unexpectedly, contact us. We will inspect the transformer, wiring, and LED strips and replace any components as required.

Beyond surface and hardware care, a few general principles will help your Tekka system look and operate at its best for the long term:
Light
Real wood veneer responds to direct sunlight by changing tone over time. This is a natural and beautiful part of how wood ages - though uneven exposure (one panel constantly in direct sun, another always shaded) can produce uneven aging. Where possible, blinds or curtains during the brightest parts of the day will help maintain even tone.
Humidity
Tekka is built to perform in normal residential humidity. Extreme conditions - prolonged exposure to high humidity in a poorly ventilated room, or extremely dry conditions in winter - can stress any wood-based material. A balanced indoor environment is the most you’ll ever need to do.
Loading
Each Tekka shelf and surface is engineered for the load it’s designed to carry. In standard use this is not something you need to think about. If you ever wish to use a shelf for unusually heavy items - a record collection, dense reference books in concentrated quantity, equipment beyond normal storage - please reach out and we’ll confirm load capacity for your specific configuration.
